THE USE OF SOCIAL NETWOORK PLUGINS

FACEBOOK

The site uses the plugins of the Facebook social network managed by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, PaloAlto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). Plugins are marked with the Facebook logo or the Facebook Social Plugin description. Facebook plugins and their appearance can be found on the following link: Facebook plugins. By using a site that contains such a plugin, the user’s browser creates a direct connection to Facebook’s servers. Facebook passes the content of the plugin directly to the user’s browser and incorporates it into the web page. Facebook thus receives information that the user’s browser retrieved the right site, even if the user does not have a Faceboook profile or is not registered to his / her Facebook account at the time of use. The browser transfers this information (including the IP address) to the US-based Facebook server and stores it there. When a user uses a plugin and e.g. clicks the “Like” button or writes a comment, this information is also transferred directly to the Facebook server and is stored there. The information is published on the Facebook profile for the user’s Facebook friends to see. The user can read more about Facebook data protection tips about the purpose and scope of data collecting and further processing and use by Facebook, as well as about the rights and options for setting up privacy protection. When a user does not want the data obtained on the site to be noted on the user’s Facebook account, the user must log out before visiting the website. The Facebook plugin download can be prevented by the user with a Facebook Blocker for example.
