100 primary school pupils got the new school supplies

Adding to the excitement of the first day in school, SPAR wanted to fill the school bags of a hundred of primary school pupils from socioeconomic vulnerable families throughout Slovenia, thus enabling them to start a new school year.

In cooperation with the social services and the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste-Polje, SPAR prepared a list of children who need their help the most and donated them new colour pencils, crayons, markers, erasers, scissors, rulers, maps and other necessities. The hand-over of school supplies was held at the Association’s premises in Ljubljana, while children from more distant towns will receive their new school supplies before 1 September.

When handing over the supplies, a secretary at the Association of Friends of Youth Ljubljana Moste-Polje Tanja Petek said:

“The children from socially disadvantaged families are often labelled in the first school days, especially if they don’t have all the required school supplies, or have the old and worn out ones. That’s why we are extremely grateful to SPAR Slovenia, which will ensure 100 children to start the new school year more relaxed and carefree.”
